Transportation

The best option for transportation from the Airport, if not using a rental car, is a taxi. We at START Hostel have a special rate for our guests with the local taxi service called  Aðalstöð for the trip from the Keflavik International Airport to us or vice versa.

For Taxi transport from the Arrival Terminal to START, the normal cost is 5500 – 6500 ISK (€ 35 – € 45) for a regular Taxi.  This price is if you choose a car in the Taxi line outside the terminal. 

Should you wish to book a trip in advance, directly with the Taxi Station, a “Meet and Greet” service is added. The driver is waiting for you in the terminal with a reserved Taxi. The cost for such service is around 8000 ISK  (€ 55 – € 58).

All the cars have the logo in the window of an "A" with wings, so they should be easily spotted from the other taxi's available by the Airport.

The bus 55 also goes from Keflavík International Airport to Reykjavík and stops at “Keilir” which is about a 10 min. walk from us, depending on the hour of day and amount of people/luggage it could be an easier option for many travellers. See the schedule on www.bus.is .
